Capcom has successfully earned revenue pertaining to the initial 900,000 shipped copies of the game and is currently rolling out its second wave of downloadable characters through its Season 1 (2017) character pass. Additionally, there are some big things happening to the roster due to incoming changes to the meta-game, buffs and nerfs are happening in a very large way. Below I will list the current and upcoming patch information as well as detail the prices for DLC and costumes. Currently Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is on sale, digital platforms, and physical, check it out on Amazon, Best Buy, or Gamestop for around $39.99

MVCI - ASSETS PERSONAL

I’ve already dug into the game with the digitial deluxe edition so I’m set and ready to try out all six of the new characters as soon as they’re available. At the time of  writing this, I’ve gotten pretty proficient at using Sigma, I run X & Zero but have a few variation teams sporting X & Sigma and Zero & Sigma. Sigma, by far, was the easiest of the DLC characters to learn. I’m thinking, anecdotally, Monster Hunter is the most popular and widely used DLC character in the bunch…  She reminds me of vanilla MVC3 Sentinel as you are going to have to learn how to fight her, she can be tough. Black Panther is the second character I’ve tried and he feels extremely hard to use, reminds me of a mix between Strider, X-23, and Juri from street fighter, maybe with a splash of Sabretooth. Currently, I’m experimenting with Black Panther and a Strider team.

I’ve been waiting, on pins and needles, to get some details on Venom. Honestly, Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier), and Black Widow are a nice and welcomed edition to the roster, in my book. I’m a fan of how Bucky uses his Arm for armored attacks that allow him to tank attacks and hulk out on opponents. Sort of reminding me of a “what if” situation where Chris Redfield and Nathan Rad Spencer did the Fusion dance.  I get the feeling Black Widow will be the Black Panther of this pack, being she looks a bit tricky to use and has some feints/reset opportunities if utilized well. Lastly, I’m glad Venom has attacks and nods back to his Marvel vs Capcom: Clash Of Super Heroes moveset. All three look great and had I not got the season pass I would have ended up diving in anyway.

The majority of them are very good, I’m not a huge fan of Spencer’s or Thor’s, but the rest are pretty great. The pass seems to include the next wave of unreleased costumes, hoping they come with the next wave of updates and DLC characters…. GENERAL
When an opponent has been hit by three special “grab” projectiles in a single combo, they will automatically be affected by a spiral hit stun, causing them to be invincible and sent into the air.
Players can also counter tag out of these attacks. Affected moves: Spider-Man – LP/HP Web Ball (including air versions) Frank – LK/HK Hammer Throw

MVCI - PATCH GEN

Changed Advancing Guard so that if a player is in block animation continuously for 300F from the first blocked hit, using advancing guard on a projectile will push the opponent away.

Can roll forward/backwards after crumpling

Crumple – A unique form of knockdown that affects a character upon landing on the ground after being hit in the air by certain moves (i.e. Hadoken)

HSD Glitch (Hit Stun Deterioration Glitch) Fix

Fixed bug causing the minimum value to become 16 when damage scaling, etc. causes the anti-recovery value to be reduced to 0.

Fixes issue where combos become easier after damage scaling is maxed out.

When piercing-projectile specials are cancelled out, their hitboxes now remain, but opponents are not affected by hit stun. Exceptions:

  • Arthur (wearing Golden Armor): Short Sword, Spear, Torch, Boomerang, Axe
  • Chris: Magnum Shot, Magnum
  • Thor: Mjolnir

Off the Ground (OTG) Relaunch Attacks

Changed so that OTG relaunch attacks (attacks that ignore opponent’s knocked down state and damage them as if they are standing) are limited to twice within a single combo (excluding Hyper Combos)

Fixed a bug that caused the shadow’s hitbox to remain for the duration of the hitstun if the character takes damage with long hitstun while using a shadow attack. Fixed a bug that caused certain characters to go off-screen when performing Wall Cling while captured by the Space Stone and the opponent retreats to the opposite wall. Affected characters: Firebrand Black Panther

Fixed a bug that caused background music to stop when too many special effects overlap. Fixed a bug that caused matches to end in a draw regardless of actual result when Fight Request is ON in Training Mode, and a shortcut is used to Restart during the frames before the “Here Comes a New Challenger” message appears. Made it easier for players ranked 5th and above to match with other players.

Liberation (D2, C1): Decreased meter gain from 100 to 30

Liberation (C3/Thorns):

  • Unrecoverable hit stun value decreased from 40 to 24
  • Duration decreased from 180F to 101F
  • Disappears when Dormammu takes damage
  • Meter gain first hit decreased from 300 to 100

Stalking Flare:

  • Hit window decreased from 4F to 2F
  • Increased unrecoverable hit stun value from 16 to 24
  • Dark Dimension: Removed hit box that was around Dormammu’s back

Overload Laser (6HP): Fixed bug causing invisible hit box to remain when cancelling the move on startup.

MVCI - MONSTER HUNTER PNG Monster Hunter

Draw Slash (H): Removed OTG property

Dodge: Fixed bug that caused Monster Hunter to dodge in the opposite direction of what was input after certain situations like hitting an opponent who is in the air with Draw Slash at close range, etc.
